About Pure Capture Innovations
Pure Capture Innovations is an Oxford-based greentech start-up, working from the Wood Centre for Innovation in Headington. It is developing sustainable, carbon-based adsorbents that target PFAS ("forever chemicals"), persistent micropollutants and similar contaminants in water. The materials are designed to work inside existing water treatment infrastructure, so utilities and industrial users do not need to redesign their processes. From its Materials Research Centre the team also offers rapid adsorbent assessment and on-site PFAS testing for water treatment.
The GBP 530,000 pre-seed round combined equity from SFC Capital, Carbon13, the British Business Bank and angel investors. Two grants from Innovate UK have also funded early development and de-risking. SFC Capital pointed to engagement from the UK water industry and the experience of the founding team as reasons to invest. The money goes into technical validation and first commercial work with water companies and industrial operators.
