About this grant

The Geovation Accelerator Programme is an award-winning initiative designed to support early-stage entrepreneurs with well-validated, data-driven solutions focused on location, land, and property data. Run by Ordnance Survey in association with HM Land Registry, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, and the Satellite Applications Catapult, the programme has supported over 150 startups since inception. The programme operates across three tracks: Location Intelligence (focusing on national mapping and location data, particularly for energy and infrastructure resilience), PropTech (using land and property data to transform the property industry), and Spatial Prioritisation and Land Use (assessing earth observation and location data for better land use decisions). Successful startups receive 6 months of intensive support followed by 6 months of hands-off support, including equity-free funding, access to open and proprietary datasets, coaching, bespoke support from geospatial experts, tailored workshops, networking opportunities at a final showcase, 18 months of workspace at the London Hub, and opportunities to present at industry events.

Eligibility

The programme is open to early-stage and scaling startups from any sector, though particularly interested in solutions addressing property, energy, infrastructure resilience, spatial prioritisation, and land use. Applicants do not need to be geospatial businesses or already use Ordnance Survey or HM Land Registry data. Selection prioritises teams solving meaningful problems with clear market opportunities, teams with clear product, technical or commercial challenges where support can accelerate progress, those demonstrating strong founder-market fit and deep customer understanding, those with evidence of customer demand, validation or commercial traction, and teams that are ambitious, collaborative, and eager to move quickly. Startups must be able to access workspace at the Geovation Hub in London.

How it's scored

Applications are evaluated through a two-stage process. Stage 1 involves a detailed application form where applicants provide information about their problem, solution, validation, and market. Stage 2 consists of interviews with shortlisted applicants to discuss their business and fit for the programme. The programme selects 3 startups for each of the three tracks (Location Intelligence, PropTech, and Spatial Prioritisation and Land Use).
