Biotech routes for valorisation of residual biomass 2026 Grant
••••• Commission
A commission
This EU innovation-grant programme funds biotechnology-based projects that convert residual biomass into high-value bio-based chemicals, polymers, materials, and enzymes through scalable biorefinery processes. Eligible applicants are organizations developing robust, circular biotech solutions that integrate pretreatment, separation, and purification while addressing environmental and resource efficiency concerns.
About this grant
The grant supports Innovation Action projects that demonstrate efficient biotechnology-based processes for converting residual biomass streams into bio-based chemicals, intermediates, polymers, materials, ingredients, and/or enzymes. Projects should increase the added value of residual biomass for biorefinery applications, develop robust and scalable biotech processes, integrate suitable pretreatment, fractionation, separation and purification steps, and address circularity, resource efficiency, logistics, safety, biodiversity, and environmental risks.
