About this grant

This Horizon Europe Joint Undertaking call funds innovation actions to strengthen the competitiveness of industrial biorefineries through advanced biotechnology and bioprocessing. Projects should develop scalable solutions for sustainable industrial chemistry and circular bio-economy applications, with emphasis on safe-and-sustainable-by-design principles and integrated downstream processes. Digital and artificial intelligence tools may be incorporated where relevant. Eligible applicants include startups, SMEs, large companies, universities, research institutions and consortia. Proposals must be consortium-based, combining industry and research partners. Funding of up to €20,000,000 per project is available through the call. Projects should be at prototype, pilot or scale-mature stage. Applicants must be based in EU member states or associated countries. The call opens on 23 April 2026 and closes on 22 September 2026.
