About this grant
Plant-for-the-Planet Academies are one-day educational workshops designed for children and youth aged 9–14 to learn about the climate crisis, climate justice, and the role of forests in protecting the future. The programme addresses the gap between global climate awareness and youth action by providing interactive, peer-to-peer learning experiences including games, workshops, and role-playing activities. Participants experience learning by doing, plant trees during the Academy, and have the opportunity to become officially recognized Climate Justice Ambassadors ready to inspire others and join a global movement. The Academies operate on a free admission model across multiple regions, with over 2,000 Academies organized in 76 countries since 2008, spanning Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
