About this grant
Plant-for-Ghana is a community-led forest restoration project operating in Ghana's wooded savannah transition zone, a critical ecosystem between rainforests and grasslands. The project is focused on restoring 1,000 hectares of degraded land in and around the Banpewa community, a village of approximately 600 people in northern Ghana. Since 2021, the initiative has planted over 98,000 trees across 18 native and agroforestry species, including Acacia, Khaya senegalensis, Adansonia digitata, mango, cashew, and shea trees, while growing over 122,000 seedlings for upcoming planting seasons. …
