About this grant
The Community Resilience Financing Partnership Facility (CRFPF) is an Asian Development Bank initiative supporting developing member countries in Asia and the Pacific to scale up community-level investments in climate adaptation. It targets the resilience of poor and vulnerable communities to the negative impacts of climate change, with an explicit focus on the nexus of climate, gender and poverty. Established in August 2021, the facility provides technical assistance and grant support and is designed for implementation over a 10-year period. The problem it addresses is a large gap in climate finance that responds to local needs, and the need to scale up adaptation investments that are locally led yet delivered at scale. Supported activities include applied research on the poverty and climate nexus, policy dialogues to strengthen the enabling environment for community-led adaptation, and capacity building of national and local institutions, community-based organisations and grassroots women's organisations to access climate finance. The facility also funds project preparation for pro-poor investments, pilots within ADB-financed investment projects, and small grants to grassroots women's organisations to test innovative local resilience ideas.
