About this grant
The Horizon Europe programme funds research and innovation projects developing breakthrough sustainable bio-based textile fibres that can replace conventional synthetic and natural fibres whilst reducing environmental impact. Projects should address microplastics, apply safe-and-sustainable-by-design principles, and optimise textile manufacturing processes using digital technologies and artificial intelligence for lifecycle assessment. Eligible applicants include universities, research institutions, large companies and small-to-medium enterprises across the EU, working in consortium format. Projects at idea and research stage through to prototype and pilot stage are welcome. Grants of up to €3,250,000 per project are available. Applications open on 23 April 2026 and close on 22 September 2026.
