About this grant

ADEME offers financial aid to support ecodesign projects, sustainable production, and obtaining the European Ecolabel. The aid covers in-depth ecodesign studies that include a diagnostic stage, which is the first structuring step for a company committing to improve the environmental performance of its products, and the subsequent implementation stage that turns diagnostic findings into actions and the marketing of products or services with lower impacts. It also supports first-step diagnostics ('Premiers Pas') for SMEs to introduce the ecodesign approach, support programmes for obtaining and certifying the European Ecolabel (for SMEs), and tests of the ecodesign standard X30-264. ADEME publishes specifications (cahiers des charges) for each project type, which applicants use when engaging consultancies. It also provides guidelines on the expected content of ecodesign studies. For SMEs, a standard ecodesign diagnostic is delivered by Bpifrance through the Diag Écoconception. Studies may be funded up to 80% of internal and external service expenditure. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and funded in order of arrival, until budgetary resources are exhausted. The aid is for the 2026 calendar year, with an account on the AGIR platform required to file.

Eligibility

The aid is open to collectivities or public administrations, associations, and companies (entreprises). It is available across all sectors of activity. It applies in the French regions and overseas territories listed on the page, including metropolitan regions as well as Guadeloupe, Guyane, La Réunion, Martinique, Mayotte, Nouvelle-Calédonie, Polynésie française, Saint-Barthélemy, Saint-Martin, Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, Terres australes et antarctiques françaises, Wallis et Futuna and Clipperton. Pas (first steps) diagnostics are aimed at SMEs. Applicants must hold an AGIR account to submit, and detailed eligibility conditions are set out in a separate PDF.
