About this grant
This guarantee instrument supports private sector investments in development cooperation projects across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the broader Global South. It is designed to de-risk investments by mitigating currency, political and performance risks, making it suitable for companies and financial institutions seeking to invest in emerging markets whilst advancing sustainable development. Startups, small and medium-sized enterprises, large companies, social enterprises and consortia may apply. Projects must be at prototype, pilot or scaling stage, demonstrate both development impact and financial viability, and involve a private sector partnership or investment vehicle. All proposals must align with Swedish development cooperation priorities and sustainability objectives. The instrument provides concessional finance, blended finance or project finance support.
