About this grant
Horizon Europe Cluster 6 funds research and innovation projects aimed at reducing environmental degradation, halting and reversing biodiversity loss, improving the management of natural resources, and ensuring safe food and water. Projects address European policy goals including the European Green Deal, the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals. The cluster's work programme is organised around seven destinations: biodiversity and ecosystem services; fair, healthy and environmentally friendly food systems from primary production to consumption; circular economy and bio-economy sectors; clean environment and zero pollution; land, oceans and water for climate action; resilient, inclusive and sustainable rural, coastal and urban communities; and innovative governance, environmental observations and digital solutions supporting the Green Deal. Funded projects are delivered by international, multidisciplinary consortia that include knowledge organisations, companies, public authorities and non-profit organisations developing joint solutions to societal challenges. The page lists several co-funded partnerships active in Cluster 6, including the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking, Water4All, the European Biodiversity Partnership (Biodiversa+), the Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership, FutureFoodS, the Agroecology Partnership, the Partnership on Animal Health and Welfare, and the Agriculture of Data Partnership. Some partnerships run their own calls. Calls are published by the European Commission on the Funding & Tenders portal, where proposals are also submitted. RVO, as the Dutch National Contact Point for Horizon Europe, advises Dutch organisations on proposals and runs trainings and information sessions.
