Ipcei Cam Call 2026
In context
This call is open to large companies, small and medium-sized businesses and startups and 3 others, at idea and R&D stage and prototype and pilot stage. Funding is a grant. Coverage is read from the notice itself: Finland and the European Union.
Business Finland is surveying Finnish companies' interest in joining the EU IPCEI CAM initiative on circular advanced materials. Applicants submit R&D projects in circular materials, resource-efficient production, or product-use circularity, and the responses will inform Finland's participation decision.
About this grant
Business Finland is running a call for applications to survey the interest of Finnish companies in participating in the European IPCEI CAM (Important Project of Common European Interest on Circular Advanced Materials) initiative. IPCEI CAM focuses on circular economy and advanced materials projects that promote research, development and deployment of new solutions, particularly in renewable energy and energy storage systems, industrial decarbonisation, and clean mobility. Projects must be innovative and of EU-wide significance, for example in material cycles, resource efficiency, recycling, new materials, or their manufacturing processes. The call covers three focus areas: sustainable sourcing of materials and circular advanced materials design, aiming to reduce EU dependence on virgin raw materials; circular economy in production, recovery and end-of-life, including low-waste, resource-efficient production technologies using secondary raw materials; and circularity in the use phase, extending product and material life cycles through repair, reuse and refurbishment. Applicants submit an R&D project application through Business Finland's online funding service, indicating a work package (WS1, WS2 or WS3) and end-use sector. Projects must consist of research, development and innovation activities that add significant value compared with the state of the art. The call itself does not yet include funding decisions; the results will inform Business Finland's decision on Finland's participation in IPCEI CAM.

Associated Partner projects are based on the company's own R&D project supporting the initiative's objectives, typically experimental development. The call does not seek Direct Participants, whose projects focus on first industrial deployment.

Relevant sectors
About this sector
Circular economy funding supports reuse, repair, remanufacturing, product redesign and secondary materials markets. Grants tend to back pilots with businesses and local authorities, while tenders buy collection, sorting and recovery services. Applicants are usually asked to show the material flows involved and who will buy the recovered output.
