This grant supports jurisdictional-level REDD+ programmes that reduce emissions from deforestation and forest degradation, typically in tropical forest regions. Funding is available as grants or blended finance to help governments, forest authorities and implementing partners develop carbon-credit monetization pathways at the subnational scale. Nonprofits, local authorities, research institutions and consortia are eligible to apply globally, with particular focus on Latin America, Africa and South-East Asia. Applicants must demonstrate existing forest conservation or REDD+ programme activity, established jurisdictional governance and implementation capacity, and a credible pathway to carbon-credit market readiness. Alignment with partner jurisdictions is required. Projects at prototype, pilot or mature scale are eligible.
