About this grant

Zishaye Grassroots Fund is an activist-led fund using feminist grantmaking principles that supports grassroots civil society organisations, groups, individuals and movements to achieve social change in Uganda. The fund prioritises land, water and climate justice from 2021 through 2025, seeking to amplify the voices of frontline communities and those most impacted by climate change. The fund recognises that climate change is an ethical and political issue, not just an environmental one, and believes that frontline communities have the best solutions yet have contributed the least to the crisis. Zishaye supports initiatives focused on defending land, rivers, lakes and other natural resources, and aims to ignite conversations, dreams, opportunities and change while building strategic partnerships between various actors.
