About this grant
The European Investment Bank (EIB) provides equity financing primarily through co-investment alongside funds focused on infrastructure, the environment, or small and medium-sized enterprises and mid-size corporations. The EIB also provides direct quasi-equity financing to support innovative companies seeking growth capital. The equity co-investment product allows the EIB to back both established investment funds and direct equity opportunities across its regions of activity, with investments typically representing 10% to 20% of fund size with a maximum of 25%. The programme supports projects that accelerate the green transition, boost technological innovation, bolster security and defence, and support regional cohesion and social infrastructure development.

Eligibility
The programme is available to investment funds and portfolio companies in EIB regions of activity, which include the European Union, enlargement countries, Western Balkans, Eastern Neighbourhood, Southern Neighbourhood, Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, Asia and Pacific, Central Asia, and EFTA countries. Eligible sectors include infrastructure, environment, small and medium-sized enterprises, mid-size corporations, climate action, social impact, and private sector growth. The programme is available to both novice and experienced investment teams.
