The program aims to maintain and, where possible, increase the Bay Area's remarkable biodiversity, ecosystem services, and nature-based recreation opportunities. The Moore Foundation pursues several strategies to achieve this: prioritizing land acquisition and conservation easements grounded in science-based regional conservation planning, supporting initial stewardship to deliver real durable conservation outcomes, coordinating partnerships across the region to foster effective collaboration among stakeholders, and developing effective conservation finance structures to maximize funding impact and ensure financial sustainability. The program supports grantees working through property acquisition, natural resource use and conservation finance to preserve and enhance habitat for native plant and animal species across the 10-county Bay Area.
