This grant funds water infrastructure restoration projects in rural areas of the Global South, Africa, South Asia and Latin America. Projects must restore or expand water storage capacity through dams, tanks, boreholes, reservoirs or similar infrastructure to increase water availability for communities dependent on agriculture, pastoralism or household use. Applicants must demonstrate or project the impact of their work in terms of litres of capacity restored and the number of families served. Previous projects have restored over 20 million litres of capacity, benefiting 2,500 families. Eligible applicants are nonprofits, charities, social enterprises, local authorities and community-based organisations working at scale-mature stage. The grant supports projects with demonstrated readiness to implement and measurable outcomes for rural water security and livelihoods.
