Im Rahmen des Forschungsprojekts „Seamless Radio Access Networks for Internet of Space“ (SeRANIS) baut die UniBw M einen Experimentalsatelliten. Zu diesem Zweck benötigt die UniBw M unter anderem eine Satellitenplattform. Der Auftraggeber hat dazu den Auftrag „Anpassung, Bau und Lieferung einer Satellitenplattform mit integrierten Nutzlasten und durchgeführten Systemtests für das Forschungsprojekt SeRANIS“ europaweit in einem Verhandlungsverfahren mit vorgeschaltetem Teilnahmewettbewerb ausgeschrieben.
