Ein Gradmesser der bayerischen Umweltpolitik ist die Aufstellung und Entwicklung von Bioindikatoren über den Zustand der Umwelt. Der Indikator „Artenvielfalt und Landschaftsqualität“ ist dabei bundesweit festgelegt und verpflichtet nach den Regelungen der ELER-Durchführungsverordnung zu regelmäßigen Evaluierungen.
