IFC, part of the World Bank Group, is seeking to engage a qualified consulting firm to support an India-based NBFC-MFI over 24 months in strengthening its greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting and sustainability reporting. On GHG accounting, the firm will review and improve the client's Scope 1 and 2 methodology, calculate Scope 3 non-financed emissions annually, and pilot financed-emissions assessments for selected MSME portfolio segments and a sample of up to 100 microfinance loans. Key outputs include methodology and data-gap assessments, detailed calculation files, annual GHG reports, recommendations to improve data quality and reduce emissions, and technical capacity-building workshops. On sustainability reporting, the firm will assess the client's current disclosures against relevant national and international standards, undertake materiality and peer benchmarking, and develop a phased reporting roadmap. It will prepare a tailored reporting framework, define key sustainability metrics and targets, and support development of the client's Year 1 and Year 2 sustainability reports, incorporating feedback from IFC, management and the Board. The work requires sustained coordination with IFC and the client through weekly or fortnightly check-ins, remote and on-site engagement in India, stakeholder consultations, data collection, and in-person workshops. The firm is also responsible for all related logistics and timely delivery of high-quality outputs.
