About this tender
Frankfurt Airport (Fraport AG) is undertaking a comprehensive spatial restructuring of Terminal 1, Building 203, covering approximately 16,000 m² across levels E02, E03, and E04. The project encompasses the high hall B-Mid area with adjacent shopping areas (Avenue and Boulevard). This tender covers the installation of new building automation (GA) control systems for HVAC, smoke extraction, and fire alarm automation control, including cabling, installation, programming, commissioning, and maintenance. Scope includes: 18 new automation stations (ASPs) with 38 cabinet fields; approximately 4,368 physical data points and 1,751 communication data points; 186 motorized fire dampers via ASi-Bus system; 133 supply/return air dampers via ASi-Bus; approximately 300 sensors and actuators; approximately 145,000 m of cabling (without function preservation) and 20,000 m of cabling (with function preservation); approximately 1,285 electrical connections. A new BMA-GA interface center will be erected for fire alarm signal distribution, including 86 detection areas, 77 existing coupler connections, 49 smoke extraction area controls, and approximately 45 tenant/leasee shutdowns. Additional installations include 1 FWT (FEIS rooms), 13 fiber optic distributors, and approximately 2,000 m of fiber optic ring. Construction is planned to commence Q2 2027 and conclude Q3 2033, with work occurring during active terminal operations.
Bidder eligibility
Bidders must be registered and classified for low-voltage building automation installation work. Experience with complex airport terminal automation systems, fire alarm integration, HVAC automation, and smoke extraction control systems is required. Prior contract experience with similar scale projects (multiple ASP installations, extensive cabling, fire safety systems) is expected. Fraport standard specifications and technical competence in ASi-Bus systems, fiber optic networks, and BMA-GA interfaces required.
