About this tender
The Nordic Council of Ministers for the Environment and Climate, under the Nordic program to reduce plastic pollution 2025-2027 administered by the Norwegian Ministry of Climate and Environment, is tendering a research and development consultancy project on the traceability of chemicals in plastics and plastic products. The project aims to provide a consolidated global overview of the methods, approaches and systems used to promote traceability of chemicals along plastic value chains, and to identify practical, implementable and globally relevant options for improving it. The work is intended to give targeted input to the ongoing Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC) on plastics and to support future plastic treaty implementation. It is also relevant to targets under the Global Framework on Chemicals (GFC) and the Stockholm Convention. The consultant is expected to consolidate and assess existing regulatory, technical and sectoral approaches in major jurisdictions, namely the EU, USA, China, Brazil, South Africa and selected Middle Eastern countries, and, where possible, translate them into prioritised recommendations for greater transparency. Deliverables include a publicly available report, issued through NordPub according to Nordic Council of Ministers guidelines (see Appendix 1 of the tender documents). The page does not state the contract duration.
