Research and monitoring services for invasive river crayfish (uitheemse rivierkreeft) populations in the funder service area. The invasive species has shown rapid expansion over recent decades and negatively impacts aquatic ecosystems by damaging vegetation, disturbing soft substrates, and disrupting ecological balance. This hampers achievement of Water Framework Directive (KRW) objectives. Prior to 2025, only ad hoc observations and minimal regular monitoring existed in the service area. …
