gwSaar seeks to procure forest compensation areas (Waldausgleichsflächen) totaling approximately 16,669 m² to be afforested by 31 December 2026 to offset impacts to existing forest stands from gwSaar's own projects in the municipality of Freisen. Afforestation must comply with Saarland's Forest Act (LWaldG), with plantings restricted to reforestation (Erstaufforstung) within Saarland only.
