Summary

A Czech central contracting authority, the city of Žebrák, is procuring municipal waste collection (mixed residual, bio-waste and separated waste) for 11 municipalities for 2027–2030, with a separate contract per municipality. It suits established waste-collection operators with a fleet and local capacity; small sustainability startups are unlikely to win.

About this tender

Město Žebrák, acting as central contracting authority, is procuring waste collection services on behalf of 11 municipalities (Žebrák, Cerhovice, Komárov, Březová, Bzová, Kotopeky, Olešná, Tlustice, Újezd, Záluží and Zaječov). The scope covers collection of mixed municipal waste (SKO), bio-waste, and separated waste. The contracts run from 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2030, a period of four years. The precise scope for each municipality is defined in the draft contracts (Annex 3) and the pricing tables to be priced (Annex 2), which form part of the tender documentation. Under a centralised procurement agreement concluded under § 9 of the Czech Public Procurement Act (ZZVZ), Město Žebrák conducts the procedure and awards the contract for the other municipalities. A separate contract is then concluded with the selected supplier for each municipality, based on that supplier's bid.

About this sector

Waste reduction funding covers prevention, collection, sorting, recycling and recovery of municipal, commercial and industrial waste. Much of the activity is public procurement by local and regional authorities, alongside grants for new treatment technology. Bidders are typically assessed on service capacity, environmental permits and track record with comparable contracts.
