BN10 is a supplement under Natural England's Capital Grants 2026 programme that provides funding for top binding and staking of hedgerows. This supplement is used in conjunction with hedgerow laying work (capital item BN5) to strengthen laid hedgerows and allow them to rejuvenate with new growth to form a continuous hedgerow. The work helps control livestock and creates habitat for pollinators and birds, supporting biodiversity protection, recovery and improvement on agricultural land. The supplement requires the use of hazel, ash or sweet chestnut stakes and binders of hazel, ash or willow, and must only be applied where management control exists over both sides of the boundary.

Eligibility
Applicants must have management control of both sides of the boundary on hedgerows being restored using capital item BN5 (Hedgerow laying). This supplement can be used as part of either the Capital Grants 2026 scheme or Countryside Stewardship Higher Tier applications. Applications must follow the rules and guidance specified in the Capital Grants 2026 guidance or CSHT applicant's guide respectively.
