About this grant
This grant supports organisations working to strengthen the agricultural value chain across East Africa, with the aim of increasing food production, improving food security, and enabling farmers to move from subsistence-based livelihoods into viable commercial operations. Applicants must demonstrate how their work will deliver climate-smart agricultural practices and build resilience to climate impacts throughout the food system. Nonprofits, social enterprises, cooperatives, research institutions, local authorities and community groups are eligible to apply. Projects must operate across the full production chain in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia or Rwanda, and show a credible pathway to producing one million tonnes of food annually. Applications at any stage of development, from prototype through to mature scaling, are welcome.
