About this grant

The BUCHI Foundation, established in 2012 by BÜCHI Labortechnik AG, a Swiss global laboratory equipment company, commits its resources to supporting disadvantaged people worldwide through development cooperation, emergency relief, and human rights initiatives. The foundation operates with a commitment to transparency, demonstrable positive and sustainable results, and alignment with BUCHI Group values of being essential, dynamic, competent, and pragmatic. Rather than implementing projects directly, the foundation works in partnership with established non-profit organizations to deliver aid and support. The foundation focuses on three thematic areas: emergency and disaster relief for immediate survival and dignity of those affected by crises, conflicts, or natural disasters; human rights protection and promotion for disadvantaged and threatened individuals and communities; and development cooperation through innovative and sustainable projects primarily in South and Southeast Asia that empower communities through a 'helping people to help themselves' approach.

Eligibility

The foundation works exclusively with non-profit organizations rather than accepting direct applications from individuals or for-profit entities. Geographic focus for development cooperation is South and Southeast Asia. Supported projects must be aligned with the foundation's three thematic areas: emergency and disaster relief, human rights, or development cooperation. All activities must demonstrate transparent operations and measurable positive sustainable results.

How it's scored

Applications are checked competently, fairly, and swiftly by the foundation board. The board, characterized by high level of expertise, interdisciplinarity, and diversity, assesses applications in terms of alignment with foundation purpose and BUCHI Group values. Projects must demonstrably achieve positive and sustainable results with transparent measurement of impact. Funding discussions are conducted in an uncomplicated manner with approved partners.
