About this grant
National Conservation Trust Funds (NCTFs) are partner organizations that lead grantmaking processes, implement projects, and drive conservation programs at the national level across the Caribbean. NCTFs work to protect and preserve marine and terrestrial ecosystems within their countries. The primary goals of NCTFs are to preserve marine and coastal areas, protect terrestrial areas, and fund local conservation projects. The Caribbean Biodiversity Fund supports a network of 11 NCTFs across the region, which collectively manage 61 linked conservation projects. These trust funds operate as locally-led conservation finance mechanisms, mobilizing resources for ecosystem protection, species conservation, disaster recovery, climate resilience, community livelihoods, and environmental education across their respective island nations and territories.
