About this grant

This IDAE programme funds free technical and economic pre-feasibility studies for projects that would produce biomethane from biogas and use it as fuel for heavy-duty transport. Eligibility

Applicants must hold substrates or produce biogas that can be upgraded to biomethane for use in heavy-vehicle fleets, either their own or linked to them. The biogas may be existing or derived from biodegradable residues that can serve as substrates. The application must be made by the holder or concessionaire of the project, who must demonstrate a concession or equivalent right to invest in and operate the future project for more than ten years. Links to a substrate supplier or a vehicle fleet are accepted where a letter of intent has been signed with the applicant expressing interest in the study and willingness to implement the project if viable.
