About this grant
The Agri-Business Facility for Africa (ABF) is a project of German Development Cooperation, launched in 2020 as a pan-African knowledge and advisory hub. The Skills for Agribusiness component scales successful agribusiness training approaches and tools for rural micro, small and medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs) operating in agricultural value chains. Training is delivered face-to-face, through self-paced e-learning and in blended formats, with the aim of strengthening the knowledge and skills of MSMEs so they can grow as suppliers, investors and employers and manage risks. ABF also trains Master Trainers and establishes networks for best-practice exchange and South-South cooperation. The work sits within a Joint Action, 'Business Support Facility for Resilient Agricultural Value Chains', implemented with GIZ project MOVE-ComCashew and co-financed by the EU (INTPA), OACPS and Germany's BMZ. Under this Joint Action ABF focuses on the cocoa, maize, cattle, sheep and goat value chains in the 79 OACPS member states, aiming to improve economic and climate resilience, food security, income and employment. The page describes advisory and training services delivered upon demand to development programmes, national or regional organisations and companies in more than 25 African countries and through an expert network in four Asian countries. It invites organisations with innovative climate-resilience project ideas to make contact. The page does not describe a grant or funding amount for this component.
