About this grant
The grant supports research and innovation projects that develop scalable processes for producing Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) bio-based polymers from alternative bio-based feedstocks, rather than primary agriculture or forestry biomass. Projects should develop efficient synthesis or extraction processes, integrate isolation/purification and functionalisation where needed, test circular-by-design applications across at least two market sectors, and assess safe and sustainable end-of-life options such as recycling, biodegradation, reuse, or remanufacturing.
