About this grant
The grant supports full industrial-scale biorefinery and related value-chain projects that produce Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) bio-based solutions for the home and/or personal care sector, including cosmetics. Projects should demonstrate industrial production at TRL 8, integrate the solutions into market-relevant end-products at TRL 7 or above, meet technical and regulatory requirements, improve sustainability, reduce fossil-feedstock dependence, and prevent pollution or harmful accumulation in water, including microplastics.
