About this grant
The Transboundary Biosphere Reserve WAP Region project supports the sustainable management of a UNESCO World Heritage Site comprising three national parks (W, Arly, and Pendjari) across Benin, Burkina Faso, and Niger and their surrounding areas. Germany has supported this region for many years, and in 2022 the three countries established a Regional Secretariat based on a 2019 agreement to jointly manage the World Heritage Site and its buffer zones, though this secretariat is not yet fully functional. …
