A founder workflow, start to finish
How a founder actually uses Raise Lens week to week, with honest timings. The persona page is Raise Lens for climate founders; this is the mechanics.
Running example: a seed-stage company doing soil carbon measurement, UK-based, selling into UK and EU.
Setup, once (5 minutes)
The onboarding wizard asks for sectors, geography and stage. Our example founder picks carbon removal and climate adaptation, UK plus EU, early stage. That profile drives match scoring and the digest; it can be edited any time.
See what funding matches you
A few quick questions. We score every live grant, tender, and contract against your shape, with no signup needed to peek.
Your matches will appear here.
Pick at least one sector above to see how many live calls match you.
The weekly pass (20 minutes, or zero with the digest)
Open opportunities with the profile filters applied. With match scoring (Pro), the feed sorts by fit; the top of the list is grants and programmes tagged to your sectors and geography. Check three fields per card, in order: deadline, stage fit, organisation type. Those three kill most bad matches in seconds. Read the two-sentence summary only for survivors. Save anything worth a proper read; dismiss the rest.
Realistic yield for this profile: 2 to 5 saved records per week across grants, programmes and the occasional relevant tender. What one of those records contains, field by field: Sample unlocked opportunity.
Pro founders can skip the visit entirely: the weekly digest delivers the same triage to email, and deadline-aware alerts on saved records mean forgetting is structurally difficult.
The monthly pass: funders and signals (30 minutes)
Two additions worth a monthly slot:
- The funder directory filtered to your sectors, sorted by recent activity. New programmes and open-to-applications changes surface here before they become listed calls anywhere.
- The intel view for buyer-side movement. For our soil carbon founder, corporate commitments and credit retirements in removal show which buyers are actually signing, which shapes who to pitch and when.
When a deadline approaches
Saved records carry their deadlines to your dashboard. The draft generator (Pro, beta) produces a first-pass application draft from the record and your profile; it is a starting structure, not a submission, and we say so honestly.
What this replaces
The typical alternative is 4 to 8 hours weekly across portals, or a legacy subscription at several times our price that covers grants only. This workflow is under an hour a week, covers grants, tenders, programmes, funders and buyer signals, and the discovery half of it costs nothing: what Free deliberately includes.
