Das frühere Garteninstitutsgebäude und später zur Allgemeinbildenden Schule "Hans Settegast" umgebaute Bestandsgebäude in Bad Köstritz, Werner-Sylten-Straße 14, hat eine rechteckige Grundform, 4-geschossig, mit flach geneigtem Satteldach (Nagelbinder) und ist auf seiner gesamten Länge von ca. 32,00 m unterkellert. Das Bauwerk wurde 1903 errichtet, im Jahr 1966 zur allgemeinbildenden Schule umgebaut und ab 1990 als Regelschule genutzt.
