Combined Solar Systems Investment 2026 Grant
Agence de la transition écologique (ADEME)
In context
This call is open to large companies, non-profits and local authorities and 2 others. Funding is a grant. Coverage is read from the notice itself: France.
ADEME financial support for collective solar combined systems (SSC) that provide heating and domestic hot water using solar thermal collectors, for tertiary-sector buildings that need heating and hot water year-round. Applicants must already have a feasibility study, and the aid amount depends on the heat produced.
About this grant
The Fonds Chaleur, managed by ADEME, finances combined solar systems (systèmes solaires combinés, SSC) that provide collective heating and domestic hot water using solar thermal collectors in which a heat-transfer fluid circulates. The aid supports installations on new or renovated buildings serving any type of building with year-round energy use. It is part of a broader renewable heat approach called EnR'Choix, which asks project holders to first demonstrate energy sobriety and efficiency measures, the pooling of heat production through existing or planned heating networks, the use of available fatal heat, and consideration of other local renewables such as geothermal and solar thermal before choosing biomass. Applicants are expected to carry out a feasibility study to size the installation and confirm the usable solar productivity before applying. The aid is calculated as a lump-sum amount based on the quantity of heat the installation produces. ADEME also offers support beyond investment aid, including opportunity notes, feasibility studies, project management assistance and advice. Applications are submitted through the AGIR platform, which requires an account. Aid is mainly granted through ADEME regional directorates, and prior contact with the relevant regional office is strongly recommended to confirm eligibility and technical requirements. The programme runs from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2026 and applies across all regions.

Eligibility
Open to local authorities and administrations, companies, public institutions and associations. The page states the scheme applies to all regions. Projects must be collective heat production installations (heating and domestic hot water) using solar thermal collectors, on new or renovated buildings, and must meet the Fonds Chaleur conditions detailed in the linked 2026 eligibility document. Applicants are advised to contact the relevant ADEME regional directorate before filing. An AGIR account is required to submit.
Key requirements
- ✓Requires a completed feasibility study qualifying system sizing and useful solar productivity
- ✓Targets tertiary-sector buildings with year-round heating and ECS needs, new build or renovation

About this sector
Renewable energy funding covers solar, wind, hydropower, geothermal and bioenergy, from early research to grid-scale deployment. Public money tends to back demonstration, grid connection and access to energy in emerging markets, while procurement notices buy installation, operation and maintenance. Calls often ask for proof of resource assessment, permitting progress and local partners.
