About this grant
The Contrat Chaleur Renouvelable is an ADEME financing instrument that supports groups of projects using renewable and recovered thermal energy (EnR&R). It is a single contract that finances a bundle of projects that individually may not qualify for the Fonds Chaleur, and allows one application to cover multiple thermal renewable sectors and project phases, from potential studies through to post-installation monitoring. Two variants are described. The patrimonial contract, lasting up to 6 years, funds studies and investments to develop renewable heat projects on the applicant's own property. The territorial contract, lasting 4 years, funds investment and study aid for renewable heat projects across a territory, and also provides territorial animation support to help surface and accompany project promoters. Eligible technologies are linked to separate ADEME aid pages covering biomass/wood heat production, surface geothermal, aerothermal and thalassothermal systems, heating and cooling networks, solar hot water and combined solar systems, solar thermal hot water, and recovered waste heat installations. Specific conditions for each technology are set out on those pages and in the programme's eligibility and financing conditions PDF. Aids are granted mainly through ADEME regional directorates, and prior contact with the relevant regional office is advised before applying.
