Agence de la transition écologique (ADEME)

In context

This call is open to small and medium-sized businesses, large companies and consultancies and professional-services firms and 1 other. Funding is a grant of Jusqu'à 80% du coût de l'étude, dans un maximum de 100 000 €. Coverage is read from the notice itself: France.

Summary

ADEME co-funds feasibility studies for French industrial companies that have already completed an energy audit and want to validate the technical and economic viability of a decarbonisation or energy-performance project before investing. The study must fit a coherent decarbonisation approach covering sobriety, material mix, energy efficiency, fossil-fuel substitution and CO2 capture.

About this grant

ADEME, the French Agency for Ecological Transition, funds feasibility studies that help industrial companies evaluate energy efficiency or decarbonisation operations before investing in high-performance, low-carbon installations. The study gives the project holder the technical, economic, regulatory and environmental information needed to decide whether an operation is feasible. It targets one specific solution, which must already have been identified by an upstream study such as an energy audit or opportunity study. If no such upstream study justifies the solution against the site's or company's decarbonisation roadmap, an opportunity study on energy mix evolution funded by PACTE Industrie must be carried out first. The feasibility study can cover technical and economic viability, propose technical solutions suited to the site, and examine financial and legal structuring options. It is framed within a five-step decarbonisation logic: sobriety, material mix changes, energy efficiency of processes and utilities (including measurement and monitoring), substitution of fossil energies with low-carbon fuels or electrification, and carbon capture at source. The study focuses on one solution from one of these steps and does not by itself judge the overall strategic coherence of a project. To be subsidised, the project holder must engage a consulting provider with technical competence and demonstrable objectivity and impartiality. Eligible providers include engineering firms with the relevant NAF codes and OPQIBI 1717 qualification (or equivalent thermal/energy expertise in the sector) and technical centres with relevant expertise. Any commercial links with CEE energy certificate schemes must be disclosed in the quote and final report. Applications are made through ADEME's Agir platform, which requires an account, and aid is granted through ADEME regional directorates. The aid is listed as open for calls dated 1 January to 31 December 2026.

About this sector

Industrial decarbonisation funding helps heavy industry cut emissions through electrification, fuel switching, process change and efficiency. Support is often capital-intensive and tied to a specific site, with feasibility studies leading to larger deployment calls. Applicants need emissions baselines, engineering studies and a plan to keep production running during the change.
