ADEME offers investment support to French organisations building or upgrading wood-fuel supply infrastructure, such as biomass supply platforms, fuel-quality equipment, large firewood storage sheds and artificial drying equipment. Eligibility requires a prior territorial diagnosis, and the funding covers 20 to 55% of eligible investment depending on the project.
About this grant
ADEME supports the financing of equipment that prepares and stores fuel for wood-fired boiler plants financed under the Fonds Chaleur, Plan de relance or France 2030 programmes, and the drying of firewood intended for domestic heating. The aim is to promote high-quality biomass supply chains. The aid can cover the creation or development of supply platforms for mobilising biomass resources in quantity and quality for energy use; equipment that produces a quality fuel, such as preparation equipment and sorting platforms; and forestry or hedgerow harvesting equipment that produces wood energy. This support is tied to the regional structuring of the biomass energy supply chain and must be linked to the supply of boiler plants financed by the Fonds Chaleur, Plan de relance or France 2030, and to certification of sustainable forest management. For domestic heating, the aid targets the production of quality firewood with quality and sustainable management guarantees, through support for building woodsheds (including those over 500 m²) and for developing artificial wood-drying equipment. The programme runs from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2026 and is listed as an active aid. Applications are made through the ADEME Agir platform, and ADEME recommends contacting the relevant regional directorate before filing.
