About this grant
The ISDE (Investeringssubsidie duurzame energie en energiebesparing) subsidy for business users supports the installation of small-scale wind turbines so that businesses can make their energy use more sustainable. The subsidy has been extended and runs through 31 December 2027, with a stated total budget of EUR 5,000,000. The maximum subsidy for small-scale wind turbines is EUR 140 per square metre of rotor surface area. To qualify, the applicant must apply for the subsidy before accepting the supplier's or installer's quote. The turbine must be installed in the Netherlands by a certified building installation company, not by the applicant. Each turbine must have a minimum rotor area of 50 m2, and a project may include multiple turbines each meeting that minimum. The turbine must be new, not second-hand or used, and must connect to the electricity grid via a small-consumer connection of up to 3x80 A. At application, the applicant must show that an environmental permit (omgevingsvergunning) has been requested for the project; the permit must be held when claiming establishment (vaststelling). The turbine must be put into use within 24 months of the subsidy decision and kept for at least one year, installed in or on the building, counted from the date of subsidy establishment. Applicants must request establishment within 13 weeks of installation to receive payment. Subsidy is not available if the turbine has previously been subsidised, or if the business claims the Energie-investeringsaftrek (EIA) tax deduction for the same turbine. The scheme is administered by RVO on behalf of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate.
