The Just Transition Fund provides grants to support regions and workers facing the greatest challenges as economies shift towards climate neutrality. It funds adaptation and structural change in territories dependent on coal, oil, gas or peat extraction, helping communities and workforces manage the economic and social consequences of decarbonisation in energy-intensive industries. Local authorities, nonprofits, social enterprises, SMEs, large companies and consortia across the EU may apply. Projects must demonstrate how they will assist affected territories, workers and communities through the transition, with particular focus on regions undergoing significant economic restructuring. Early-stage initiatives are eligible.
