Die drei Krankenhäuser Aurich, Emden, Norden sollen zu einer Klinik zusammengeführt werden. Geplant ist der Bau eines aufgelösten Komplexes aus mehreren Gebäuden mit den dazugehörigen Verkehrs-, Park- und Freiflächen. Mit der Zentralklinik entsteht ein modernes und zentral zwischen den Städten Aurich, Emden und Norden gelegenes 814-Betten-Haus auf einem 36 Hektar großen Areal in Uthwerdum.
