About this tender
Iarnród Éireann (Irish Rail) is establishing a Qualification System for Tree Felling and Vegetation Removal services. The system will cover both planned routine tree surgeon works notified in advance and emergency works responding to critical safety situations (weather events, sudden safety concerns, reactive safety-critical situations). Successful applicants will be appointed to the qualification system and receive future tender enquiries throughout the term. Ancillary services may be required in conjunction with main tree felling and vegetation removal works. All personnel must hold valid Safe Pass and Personal Track Safety (PTS) certifications, with training provided by Irish Rail. Manual handling training is mandatory for all employees. Irish Rail reserves the right to issue and award Framework Agreements from this Qualification System during its lifetime.
Bidder eligibility
Applicants must be suitably qualified companies capable of undertaking tree felling and vegetation removal work. All employees working on or near railway lines must obtain valid Safe Pass certification. If awarded a contract, all employees must complete Personal Track Safety (PTS) training (courses run by Irish Rail). All employees must have completed manual handling training. Companies must be capable of responding to both planned tender enquiries with advance notice and emergency works on a prompt, time-sensitive basis for safety-critical situations.
