About this grant

The ISDE ventilation subsidy for homeowners (Investeringssubsidie duurzame energie en energiebesparing) provides a fixed grant of EUR 400 for installing a new ventilation unit in a Dutch owner-occupied home, in combination with one or more insulation measures. The subsidy targets energy savings and improved indoor air quality in older homes. Eligible units fall into three types: a central CO2-controlled extract fan with at least two CO2 sensors and a capacity above 125 m3/h; a central balanced ventilation unit with heat recovery (WTW) with at least 85% efficiency and 125 m3/h capacity; and a decentralised balanced WTW unit with at least 80% efficiency and 80 m3/h capacity. Units must be new, not second-hand, and ideally listed on the official meldcode list. The measure must be installed by a (building) installation company on or after 1 January 2026, and the applicant must not perform the installation personally. The home must have been built before 1 January 2019, or the environmental permit must have been applied for before 1 July 2018. The subsidy application must be submitted within 24 months of installation, and it can be filed together with the insulation application. Homeowners in Groningen and certain North Drenthe municipalities (Aa en Hunze, Noordenveld, Tynaarlo) who own a home are excluded from ISDE insulation and ventilation subsidy and are directed to SNN Measure 29 instead. Applicants need DigiD (app or SMS verification) to apply. Required documents include the meldcode or technical documentation, an invoice and proof of payment, installation date, homeowner address, and installer details including KVK number.

About this sector

Energy efficiency funding covers building retrofits, industrial process upgrades, heat recovery, efficient equipment and demand reduction. It arrives as grants for audits and capital works, as support schemes run by agencies and utilities or as public tenders for retrofit and energy services. Applicants usually need a baseline of current energy use and a measured saving.
