About this grant

The Tijdelijke subsidieregeling Luchtvaart in Transitie (LiT) Haalbaarheidsproject is a temporary Dutch subsidy scheme managed by RVO, part of the Nationaal Groeifonds programme Luchtvaart in Transitie, commissioned by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management. It funds feasibility projects that assess the technical and economic risks of innovation projects in the aviation sector. A feasibility project consists of a feasibility study, which may be supplemented with industrial research or experimental development. Eligible activities include literature reviews, patent research, inventories of available technology and potential partners, market exploration and competitor analysis. The research must address one of the following themes: new drivetrains, electric-thermal housekeeping, new design concepts and materials, ultra-efficient structural components, or cost-effective manufacturing technologies for new aircraft configurations after 2030. The scheme aims to help companies strengthen their position in the international supply chain up to 2030 and beyond, to strengthen the Dutch economy, and to build the knowledge needed to continue decarbonising aviation after the LiT programme, including the transition to zero-emission flying and the competitiveness of the Dutch aircraft manufacturing industry. Subsidy covers up to 50% of eligible costs, capped at EUR 100,000 per project. Projects must start within 4 months of application and be completed within 12 months of starting. Applications are assessed in order of receipt; if oversubscribed on a given day, a lottery is held among complete applications received that day. A decision is issued within 13 weeks of a complete application. Claims for final assessment must be submitted within 13 weeks of project end.
