About this grant

ADEME supports brownfield site reconversion projects through financing of studies and remediation work, in compliance with national methodology for managing polluted sites and soils. The programme addresses the essential need to reclaim brownfields while reconciling urban and territorial development with the zero net land take (ZAN) trajectory. The grant supports two main activities: studies to integrate brownfields into territorial approaches, including pollution risk assessment, brownfield inventory, and reconversion planning at territorial scale; and studies and remediation work for brownfield sites under the Green Fund (Fonds vert), which includes pollution assessment studies following NF X 31-620 standards, implementation of pollution management measures (remediation, constructive provisions), building deconstruction and asbestos removal, and ecological soil restoration. Support is specifically targeted at former ICPE sites (classified installations for environmental protection) or sites under mining law.

Eligibility

This aid is open to local authorities, companies, industrialists and renewable energy project developers, public and private developers (public development establishments, local public enterprises, mixed-economy companies, public local companies), public and private promoters and social landlords, public land establishments (EPF), state and local bodies, territorial public establishments, and other project holders except individuals. All regions of France are eligible. Applicants must note that the Green Fund is managed by regional Prefects, and local specificities may exist, requiring consultation with the relevant regional environmental and housing authority before application. Projects must concern former ICPE sites or sites under mining law for remediation work eligibility.
