About this grant
ADEME provides financial support for eco-design investments aimed at improving the environmental performance of products and services. The programme funds investments in proven technologies for production or commercialisation of eco-designed products, processes, or services, as well as investments and work (prototype realisation and testing, pre-production) on innovative solutions for eco-designed products or services. The initiative supports breakthrough innovation projects that enable manufacturers to develop comprehensive eco-designed product/service offerings for sustainable modes that create value through customer loyalty and reduced environmental impacts across the full lifecycle. Projects must originate from an eco-design approach or feasibility study using a multi-criteria, lifecycle methodology approach. The programme operates on a rolling basis (first-come, first-served funding) and continues until budgetary resources are exhausted, no later than 31 December 2026.

Eligibility
The programme is open to enterprises of any sector of activity undertaking investments to reduce environmental impacts of their products or services. Eligible applicants also include local authorities/administrations and associations. The initiative is available across multiple French regions and overseas territories: Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Bretagne, Centre-Val de Loire, Grand Est, Guadeloupe, Guyane, Hauts-de-France, Île-de-France, La Réunion, Martinique, Mayotte, Normandie, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Nouvelle-Calédonie, Occitanie, Pays de la Loire, Polynésie française, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, Saint-Barthélemy, and Saint-Martin. Projects must be based on an eco-design diagnostic or feasibility study undertaken to improve environmental performance. Aid is granted based on identification of additional costs compared to a counterfactual scenario or under the de minimis regulation, whereby a single company cannot receive more than 300,000 euros in de minimis aid over a three-year period.
How it's scored
Applications are evaluated and funded according to their order of arrival (first-come, first-served basis). Projects are assessed based on the identification of surplus costs relative to a counterfactual scenario under Article 47 of the General Block Exemption Regulation (GBER) or under the de minimis regulation 2023/2831 of 13 December 2023. The evaluation considers the nature of the project, company size, and the level of innovation (experimental development or process innovation).
